Longitude Festival is set to take place this year from July 15-17 in Marley Park, Dublin.
Irish twitter went in to meltdown at lunchtime today when Longitude announced its first round of festival acts. Huge news.
Kendick Lamar, Major Lazer, and The National headline the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mainstage. All strong headliners, however people were mostly loosing their minds over K.Dot. Lamar has a massive following in Ireland but has only played here once, and that was over three years ago. His cult fanbase has only grown following the release of To Pimp A Butterfly last year.
Bare in mind this is merely the first announcement. You can expect that dozens of more incredible acts will be added to lineup later on.
We were impressed by the prominence of homegrown talent in the first announcement. It’s great to see Irish acts on the first headliner poster. Saint Sister released their debut album, Madrid late last year and have been receiving excellent reviews all round. All Tvvins are another Dublin duo, and you should absolutely check out their video for ‘Thank You’ below.
Tickets for the fest go on sale January 29th, with day tickets at about 64 euro and weekenders at 160 euro.
